Lucy is new in the city. She lives in an apartment.

Lucy wants to have a pet dog. But pet dogs are not allowed in the building.

One day, Lucy is at the playground near her apartment. She finds a bird that cannot fly.

She makes a small bed for it. She gives it bread and water.

Lucy asks her mom if she can keep the bird. Mom says they should ask first.

They go to the building manager. He knows what people can or cannot do in the building.

The manager says they can keep a bird in the apartment.

Lucy is happy. She has a pet bird. She likes living in the city now.
